Warm Up

The purpose of a warm up is to prepare your body for exercise. Warming up gradually increases blood flow to your muscles and prepares them for the workout to come. It also raises your body temperature allowing you to workout longer and harder. It is important to warm up before ANY workout - strength training or cardio. A proper warm up for strength training takes 10-15 minutes - 5 minutes of cardio warm up followed by 5-10 minutes of warm up exercises. A proper warm up for cardio takes 5-10 minutes gradually increasing the intensity.

Phase 1


This phase is all about strengthening your body’s foundation – your core. Most people have poor core strength which can lead to muscle imbalances, incorrect posture, lower back issues and many other problems. By strengthening your core - your entire trunk not just abdominal muscles - you improve your stabilization, balance, posture, joint support and muscle imbalances which prepares your body for tougher more demanding workouts – like Phase 2!

Phase 2

Strength Endurance

This phase combines stabilization and developing muscle size and strength. This is done by working the muscles responsible for postural stability using light weights and lots of reps. Think of a rower or swimmer who needs to maintain strength throughout a race – that’s strength endurance. Ready? Set? Go!

Phase 3


This phase is designed to further increase muscle size and strength. To increase muscle growth you put more stress on the muscles and really fire them up by using heavier weights and fewer reps. In other words, we are going to pump you up!

Phase 4

Maximal Strength

This phase is all about increasing strength. These exercises and muscle actions combined with specific rep tempos focus on increasing the highest level of force you can generate. So for this phase size doesn’t matter it’s all about strength baby!

This phase focuses on using the greatest amount of your maximal strength in the shortest period of time. Power can be achieved by increasing the weight or increasing the speed with which the weight is moved. Strength + Speed = Power. Do it!



Cardiorespiratory training at low intensity will result in some improvements in health and well-being. High intensity and interval training will provide the greatest impact for weight loss and a healthy heart which translates into a number of huge physical and mental benefits.


Cool Down

The purpose of a cool down is to lower your heart rate to normal and stretch the muscles you just worked. A proper cool down takes 10 - 30 minutes depending on the intensity of the workout and tightness of the muscles. It is important to stretch the muscles you worked. Think about the motion you performed when you worked the muscle - a stretch is the opposite movement.
